Admission

Here is what you need to know before being admitted into Hospital Picaso.

Admission Process Flow
  1. You will be notified regarding the date of admission (same day/future day).
  2. You are required to bring all relevant documents on the day of admission (e.g. Patients submitting documents for pre-admission will need to bring their admission form).
  3. You will be briefed on the terms and conditions of the stay.
  4. Beds are booked depending on availability.
  5. You are required to pay a deposit at the Business Office counter.
  6. When your bed is ready, the Concierge will direct you to the ward.

Note: Patients who wish to return home or leave the premise while waiting to be admitted are required to get consent from their respective doctor. Please inform the admission team to obtain the necessary approvals.

Documents Needed
  1. Admission form, if any (not applicable for Emergency admission)
  2. Identity card/passport belonging to the patient
  3. Identity card/passport belonging to guarantor/next of kin
  4. Related documents, if any: Guarantee Letter (GL)/reference letter
  5. Medical card
Deposit

Insurance Patient
RM500 or as per policy deductible.

Self-Pay Patient
ICU case: RM 10,000
Procedure: As per the estimated cost quoted for the planned procedure


Payment Mode
You can pay the deposit by cash, debit/credit card or online transfer. Personal cheques are not accepted.

Rooms
Room allocation is subject to the availability of room types during admission. For a request of room change for Corporate/Insurance patients, please inform the Business Office counter.
Insurance/Company Guarantee Letter (GL)
It takes an average of 3 hours for the initial GL to be approved. This average time estimation may vary, depending on the complexity of the assessment of your insurance coverage.
During Admission and Throughout Your Stay

At Hospital Picaso, your comfort is our priority. Here is what you can expect during your stay:

Call Bell

Call Bell services in the ward are not chargeable. Please call for assistance.

Waiting Area

At each floor, public waiting areas are located at the lift lobby/outside the lift lobby.

Meals

Meals are complimentary for in-patients only.

Food is supplied according to the patient’s age and health condition, and mealtimes are as follows:

Breakfast 7:00 am - 8:00 am
Lunch 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Afternoon Tea 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Dinner  6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Supper Served together during dinner

Please use your own cutleries for non-halal food. A hot water flask is provided and a hair dryer is available upon request.

Electrical

Own electrical items are strictly not allowed in the hospital.

Smoking

Smoking is prohibited on our premises.

Valuables

In the interest of safety, we request that you do not bring any valuables into the hospital. Hospital Picaso does not accept responsibility for the loss or damage to personal property.

Discharge

Before you leave your room and return home, here is what you should know about our discharge process.

Discharge Process Flow
  1. You will be informed when you can be discharged by the doctor.
  2. The doctor and ward staff will prepare all the documents for discharge.
  3. Your discharge is recorded in our hospital system.
  4. Relevant documents are sent to Business Office (BO) department.
  5. The pharmacy and other department staff prepare your take-home medication and related charges.
  6. BO staff will finalise the hospital bill once take-home medication is ready and all related charges are recorded.
Room Charges for Discharge

A half-day room charge will be levied for discharges between 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. For discharges after 4:00 pm, an additional day's rate will be charged.

Discharge Time
Please allow 1 to 3 hours after the doctor announces the discharge to enable the discharge operation process by the various departments, namely Nursing, Pharmacy and Business Office.
Bill Settlement

Self-payer

We expect full payment of the final bill upon discharge.

 

Corporate Patient

A Letter of Guarantee from the Company is required. The patient shall settle any excess or uncovered charges as stated in the Letter of Guarantee.

 

Insurance Patient

Scenario 1: Pending final Guarantee Letter (GL) from the insurance company

The patient may be discharged with an initial GL from the insurance company and payment of deposit with the hospital. The deposit amount collected shall be determined based on an estimation of the bill size and policy deductible amount.

Scenario 2: Receipt of final Guarantee Letter (GL) from the insurance company

The patient shall settle fully the uncovered charges as stated on the final GL.

Refund of Deposit
All refunds will be expedited in the same mode (i.e. the same credit card) that was used to pay the deposit.
